Designer / Art Director

Brighton Agency is looking for a Designer/Art Director who operates at the intersection of strategic thinking and inspired creative, someone who uses AI not as a novelty, but as a core part of how they work.

We help clients think differently about their brand and how to engage their customers. AI is a big part of how we do that, and we want someone who’s already living in that world.

Here’s what you’ll be doing (hint: it’s a lot more than just making things pretty):

  • Translate brand strategy and business objectives into visually compelling creative that earns attention and drives results.
  • Concept and craft designs across every medium, social, digital, print, video, packaging, and more always with the strategy in mind, not just the aesthetic.
  • Partner with Creative Directors, ACDs, and Copywriters to push work from brief to brilliant, asking the hard questions that make the work sharper.
  • Adapt your creative approach across different brands and categories, making each feel distinct, cohesive, and rooted in a real insight.
  • Use AI tools daily and deliberately to generate concepts faster, explore creative territory, pressure-test ideas, and unlock output that wouldn’t exist otherwise.
  • Own projects from kickoff to final file on-brand, on-strategy, and on deadline.
  • Stay ahead of what’s next in design, culture, and AI and bring it back to the team.

What You’ll Bring to the Party:

  • A bachelor’s degree in graphic design, Visual Arts, or a related field or equivalent experience that proves you’ve got the chops.
  • 3–7 years of experience in an ad agency, design studio, or marketing environment enough to think strategically, still hungry to push further.
  • Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, XD).
  • A killer portfolio that shows range and strategic thinking not just beautiful work, but work that was built to solve something.
  • Real, working fluency with AI creative tools we’re an Anthropic-based agency, so comfort with Claude is a must, alongside tools like Adobe Firefly, ChatGPT, Nano Banana, and whatever else moves fast in this space.
  • The instinct to use AI as a creative co-pilot at every stage concepting, iteration, production, and beyond. Not a dabbler. An integrator.
  • Strong conceptual thinking and the ability to connect visual decisions back to brand strategy.
  • A collaborative mindset, sharp communication skills, and the ability to give and receive feedback like a pro.
  • An eye for detail, a love for organized chaos, and the ability to juggle multiple projects without dropping the ball.
